My husband went shopping at Walmart to get some Equal for me the other day. He wasn’t able to find what he needed, so I ran out to the store the next day and found some Equal that would work for me so that I could try out an Equal recipe from their website.
I’m on the Weight Watchers program right now, so I’m trying to find things to eat that are low in points and still taste good. I love smoothies, especially when I’m craving a sweet treat or I want a low carb breakfast. One the Equal website I found a recipe for a Banana Berry Smoothie and I knew that’s what I wanted to try.
I had all of the ingredients except for raspberries, so I made myself the recipe without the raspberries. I think it will be really good with the raspberries though so I’m going to have to try that sometime.
Ingredients
| 2 cups plain nonfat yogurt 1 medium size ripe banana, peeled, sliced 1/2 cup Equal® Spoonful or Granulated* 2 tablespoons lemon juice 2 cups frozen unsweetened whole strawberries 1 cup frozen unsweetened red raspberries * May substitute 12 packets Equal sweetener |
Preparation
- Combine yogurt, banana, Equal® and lemon juice in blender or food processor; cover. Blend until smooth.
- Add half of frozen fruit. Blend until smooth. Repeat with remaining frozen fruit.
- Serve immediately in tall glasses.
I love my Ninja. That took about 20 seconds to do…
Then I added my strawberries and blended it some more. I ended up adding a little water too, because it was a little too thick for me.
Doesn’t it look good? It’s delicious! It was so good and I figured out the points to be just 2 points for each glass, and that’s only because I used regular yogurt. Make it non-fat like the recipe calls for, and it will be just 1 point! This may be my new breakfast smoothie!
